The day after the election, when it was clear that he would become our President, Sophia cried at the news. Not because she's well versed in politics, but because she simply wanted a woman to lead our country -- as many young girls did. We took a deep breath, agreeing that it was ok to be disappointed and she whispered, "But Mommy, being the President is kind of a big job. Do you think he can do it?" ... Do your kids ever make you feel as though their pure and honest thoughts are more profound than what we struggle with as adults? So, in the moment I shared that it's important we hope and pray that President Trump will be excellent. That he will do his job with compassion, and be a great ambassador for our country. We don't have to like it. But we do have a choice to do our part.
