“We’re so nervous! Ms. Anitra, what if we mess up in front of all these people?”
Just in case the words somehow escaped them, they quietly practiced the pledge of allegiance before last night’s city council meeting. I am regularly proud of these Brownie Girl Scouts. They are a fine example of all the qualities we teach in Girl Scouting – committing to be considerate and caring, honest and fair, courageous and strong, respectful, and a sister to all. And for Mayor Jennifer Roberts, they exuded kindness and faith in our local leadership. So, it is no surprise to me that their energy leaves us feeling overcome with joy and reminded of the responsibility to building a community that focuses on the future.
